Hillman Avenger Units built: 638,631Introduced in February 1970, the Avenger was the first and last car to be developed by what was the Rootes Group, after the British firm was taken over by Chrysler in 1967.
The small, rear-wheel drive family car was designed to bridge the gap between the Imp, and the Hillman Minx, and to compete with the Ford Cortina. Manufacturers also wanted to appeal to businesses who were providing staff with company cars, and employed fashion consultants to help make the model appealing to female buyers.
In 1976, the car was re-branded as the Chrysler Avenger, and following the collapse of Chrysler Europe in 1978 and its takeover by PSA Peugeot Citroen it was re-branded again under the resurrected Talbot brand. Production came to an end in 1981, when PSA closed the Linwood plant in Scotland where the cars had been made since 1976.

The scary thing is based on the site which they got their statistics from, there is only 19 Chrysler Avengers left!!

I wish we had the same site in New Zealand.

Added up to 222 Avengers left on UK roads

gone up by 7! barn finds & imports from NZ

There has been a couple of Avengers recently that I know of that have been imported over to the UK. I think we would have way more Avengers left in NZ than UK now.
