ALSO!! saw an avenger coming into wellignton/one of the p places north af wellington and 99.9999% sure it was that one that scout brought

avenga

No probs. I feel like it should be the other way round with me thanking you guys for supporting the forum and making it what it is. I couldn't do any of this without all of you guys.

There will be many more Avenger meetings to come.

Awesome job on the Avenger spotting. Scout live down in ChCh so it would be interesting if it is on the north island.

Thanks Aaron, and thanks for the parts. It was such a fun weekend and as the forum grows it will only get bigger and better. But yeah no need to thank me, it was you guys who made the weekend as great as it was. You are all a great bunch of people with amazing taste in cars  ;D It was really funny how small the Avenger world is like how Andrew knows a guy I sold some dual carbs to 5 years ago and how Aaron seems to have owned or seen pretty much every Avenger I know of.

And it was also Amazing to see all your cars. I loved them all and they all had there own style and personality. Aarons is a awesome little sleeper, It looks all innocent with the super luxury interior, full chrome trim with louvers and tidy engine bay but with that Alpine engine and the 1 3/4 carb she is a real goer. And Andrews is cool to watch it's transformation from when I first saw it in Hamilton last year, I love the colour and stance of your car and can't wait to see what you do to it by next time. And Ross's Super Alpine is cool for it's originality plus being a factory odd ball and big ups for deciding to get your parts car back on the road for the trip, it is way to nice for a parts car. And then there is Kiera's Avenger, That thing has so much personality. Pretty much everyone I have talked to has been raving about Kiera's Avenger. With those awesome wheels and tyres and the funky dash and sheep skins which just scream 70's cool. And that brings us to my Avenger which is just the loud mouth of the group with a drinking problem.

I really like how everyone has modified their Avengers to their own tastes. There wasn't any two which looked alike in style. I really can't wait to see what everyone does to their Avengers by next time and by then hopefully we have some more Avengers to join in. but yeah I was blown away by the quality of everyones Avengers and I got quite a few comments on how good they all looked together so big ups to all of you for doing such a good job with your Avengers

Sketchy moment while I was cruising home with Ross. We were going down the big long hill on the Napier-Taupo road and Ross likes to put it in neutral so I figured I would follow suit. We were barreling down the hill and I have to keep an eye on my oil pressure at idle because it drops to about 20PSI at idle. So after a few corners I quickly lost my brakes, I was thinking it was far to quick for brake fade so I had to really stomp on the brakes to slow for the corners. About half way down I got a chance to look over at the oil pressure and WTF it was at zero, so I thought what the crap has gone wrong. It wasn't till after the next corner that I looked at my revs and they were at zero also so somehow my engine decided to stall while it was idling in neutral. I didn't even notice it stalled because I have to have my stereo so loud to hear it over the engine that I can't even hear the engine at idle. I decided to hill was too steep and winding to try to restart the engine so I just toughed out the rest of the hill with non-boosted brakes. It was pretty fun really. Nothing like having no brakes and thinking you are going to die. When I got down to the bottom I just started the engine and carried on in 4th.

Hey Dave, I will be going down to MoPars in Geraldine in October and on the way down and back up I will be staying in Nelson before catching the ferry so I will pop around and see you. I will be in my Chrysler Valiant Charger but we can still talk crap about Avengers.

Yeah great to meet you guys and everyone's Avenger is different...something to admire in all of them!
I really liked the convoy run out to the winery...I hardly ever see another Avenger, so it was awesome to see 4 in a row!!
Richard and I had a great drive back....he kept up with me most of the time...lol
There's some kick-ass hills between Napier and Taupo, got up to 110km/h coasting down one of them!!
Pretty scary though, as my Avenger has 155 tyres on the front and 165 on the rear and in neutral the handling isn't the best...it's like a trolley rolling down a hill...hit a bump mid-corner and she twitches uncomfortably!
I'm changing it to 165 front 175 rears to help the road holding and improve the gearing....still keeping my fantastic chrome wheel trims of course....haha
