Yeah...I saw a Rolls Royce with a STOLEN personalised plate a few years ago...hardcase!!

sounds like a good plan Ross.

What wheels are you going to stick on it now that you've sold your globes? (would buy them if I had money....haha)
Also, where did you get/are you getting your extractors from?

And keen to know how it goes with twin 1.75" carbs. I would have thought it would be over carbed.....?

Hi guys...with Scarlett now finished...it's time to move Sandy the Alpine into the garage for renovation!!
Plans include:
Remove minor rust and dings, then repaint in the original colour.
Replace bonnet and paint gloss black
Replace windscreen and rubber
Fit new exhaust system with extractors
Fit twin 1.75" SU carbs
Fit electric radiator fan
Fit sports steering wheel
Fit 14 x 6 mag wheels
Fit an in-dash tacho
Fit sports seats

Should be ready next month in time for the Nationals....lol

I can get extractors here in Auckland, probably through Richard as his ones are awesome!
I'll use adapter plates for the 1.75" carbs in case they don't work out, so I can put the 1.50" ones back on!!
SU (and CD) type carbs have a variable venturi (unlike weber's and dellorto's) keeping the mixture flow constant whatever the throttle position and engine RPM, thus avoiding the low speed problems that weber's and dellorto's often have.
I'm more concerned about it running rich, as the twin 1.75" carbs are out of a 2600cc Rover.
I'll put on 14 x 6 mags with 185/70 tyres - will decrease the diff ratio from 3.89:1 to around 3.70:1 for better highway cruising.

I think il run twin 1.5 SU's if I end up doing SU's (have twin stromburg cd150s ready for it at the mo). I think the 1.75"s will be too big/no gain over the 1.5"s but its worth a shot.

Let me know when you find some extractors, Im keen for some aswell at some stage.

Good to see someone else with plans, Ive lost all my car mojo lately haha, its just been one problem after another

oldschool

...got my mojo back as I'm single again...need to find a chick that likes old cars...lol

Sound like she will be a beast by the time your finished Ross. Good luck on the finding a chick who likes old cars. My ex hated my Charger and as a result I didn't drive it for over 2.5 years.

And Andrew don't let it get you down. Old cars will alway give you shit, just lucky you are not doing anything as extreme as my car. My list of fixes and modifications is massive. You don't want to know how much time and money has been sunk in to my car but put it this way I probably could have brought and imported a Tiger for cheaper.

My carbs are spitting and popping like crazy in it's current tune. Probably need to convert a diesel alternator to provide vacuum to the brakes so it doesn't upset #4 carb and my linkages aint working properly so the back carb isn't returning to idle so that will need to be re-engineered. man it is just never ending but it will be awesome when I am done. I am already very close to Tiger spec in terms of power.

I will find out where my extractors are from tomorrow for you guys.

Nice addition to the fleet.

Ross and I had a look at this car on the way back from the OS Nats and I was going to make a for sale ad for it on the forum but Ross decided to buy it. And good on you because it was a steal for the amount you paid.

It was great to see it on the road in Hamilton over the weekend.

I will have a hunt around for all my AR Chrysler Avenger bits and pieces.
