Steering wheel boss

Lads i have one of these steering wheels with ford boss, any idea where i could get a boss suitable for my Avenger???
They r a fairly generic wheel im sure ye have seen em before !

Hi Dan,

Unfortunately, most Boss Kit manufactures have ceased making boss kits to suit Hillman Avengers.

However, The good news is that you have a Mk1/2 Ford Escort Boss Kit which has the same thread pattern as a Hillman Avenger.

You simply need to take the boss kit to an engineer and have approximately 2cm machined off from the outside of the boss kit, leaving the centre part untouched. This will allow for the boss kit to fit properly under the plastic trim behind where your steering wheel should sit.

To have the boss kit engineered will be quite cheap...Approx $30NZD so maybe around $10-15pounds for ya!

Yep I've got a new Mk1 Escort boss kit here, Mk2 Escort has a different spline and won't fit.
The boss kit base can be modified with a hacksaw and file DIY...lol

Use a Chrysler (mk11) steering shaft as it has a different spline that matches the Mk2 Escort spline
