I think my post in another thread got this thing started in the first place - mine is September 1971.

Anybody joining the 40 year club? Classic Reg starts from Jan 1st so anybody with a '72 will be getting a nice surprise when you next go down to the AA. :)

www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=EA9320 recently changed hands too (E > F and is potentially oldest in existience

QuotePlate: EA9320

Engine No: (not recorded see below was often the chassis #)
Chassis: 211900345
CC rating: 1,500cc (1.5l)

which I think may be a contendor for oldest "in the world"

(it was in the hands of a member of the forum for a bit located deep South Island)

Derek B just commented on a photo of my car with his FK6731 Race car (no longer in existinece) racing @ Levin Circuit

previously, the earliest known was regarded as FK9032 (and FK9034

Information from : www.aronline.co.uk/cars/hillman/avenger/new-zealand/

QuoteLocal assembly of the Avenger duly commenced in July 1970, initially of a single 1.5-litre four-door, named the Avenger Super. The first examples generally seen by the public were two press vehicles of Todd Motors, carrying the registration number plates FK9032 (below) and FK9034 respectively, appearing in print advertising, followed by examples encountered in shopping displays and dealership showrooms.

if anyony can shed any light or info?

the later surviving until at least 1997 on the NZTA Rego list

via FB this is regarded as the Oldest in existience in the UK : I'd love to compare build plates to the NZ car

www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/news/2020/february/25/car-of-the-month-michael-wall-and-his-1970-hillman-avenger-super

(One day we'll just ask him i nthe Avenger group hah)

QuoteMichael believes to be the earliest known example of the Avenger – 'it was registered on 5th March 1970 and was the 5,575th off the production line. I've owned the Super since 2007, and I've very subtly modified it with Minilite wheels and bespoke springs. I've always thought the Avenger was a great handling car and these improvements enhance the experience'.

QuoteAdditional Information
Engine number   RF221005575RB2

clue = the last 4x digits before the RB2

5575

WHICH might Award EA as #0345 as "THE Oldest Avenger in the World?!"

and FK as #4427 off the assembly line? Late 2nd?
