Ken Douglas Yeah good luck trying to buy a Group one (Standard production) Avenger just like this one. Two door and 1800cc engine.

Graeme Bjerring I think only two ever made. Where are they?

Robbie McLean Author I worked with a guy Royce Calder in Auck in the mid 80s he is a friend of Kenny Smith . He said he owned it ? I did see the car turned into circuit car. Had history .

Picked up my latest addition to the Hillman Avenger collection, not everyone's cup of tea but a very nice example of this NZ iconic marque.

ohhh golly, what is the chassis code / definition of this '2 door' "GLS"?

we / NZ only got 2 door Series 8's is that right? (Chrysler Avenger / 79-80's?)

have seen a few of these or are they 'twin Light converted' cars?

avenga

We never got the 2 doors over here in NZ. Todd motors wanted to do the GTO in the 2 door and the Avenger in the 4 door.

In the UK the 2 door ran from '73 to '79 but as that is from Iran I think it is a "Hillman e 2 dar e montage iraan"

Quote
The Avenger was built in Iran from 1978?1980 in two-door, 69 hp (51 kW) form by Iran Khodro Co. and called "Hillman e 2 dar e montage iraan" aside the locally manufactured Hillman Hunter (called Paykan). The engine used in was the Hunter engine as also used in the Paykan.

I'm shocked a Paykan (Hunter) motor was fitted into the Avenger in Iran...it was the other way around according to this article...even RWD Peugeots were fitted with Avenger motors!!
