Mate just posted this on the RCIS group:

and a sad story has been told
Quote
Quinton Taylor  That's Dave Robertson in the Hemi-powered Avenger (Invercargil and on Facebook or Choppas Tyres) and he will know where it is. I can't quite remember the name of the Ford owner. I took that photo from the start finish gantry Teretonga

Adrian Robertson  Dave Robertson’s avenger died in the tire wall near Castrol corner I believe caused by a jammed throttle

Ouch! I am down in Invercargill right now. I was doing a track day at Teretonga today, so I was going around that exact corner, and the tire walls are nasty there.

My Avenger went sweet, my best lap was 1:32.

Off to Cromwell tomorrow, then track day at highlands. Then onwards to levels and Ruapuna track days

this is the last warrior of an era.

the dodge 1500 that run in the top racing category the TC2000 by Guillermo "yoyo" Maldonado, there where two cars for 1987-1988 and achieved 5 victorys in 1988.

back then in those two years most restrictions were eliminated and resulting in the most extreme modification to the 1500, the nose heavily modified for better aerodinamics and the rear axle was modified to use independent suspension, using VW beetle half shafts for better traction cornering
The engine was extensively known by the racing mechanics, and with 2 liters of displacement produced around 210 hp.
The 1500 was raced since mid 70 but was absent for two years when Maldonado appeared with this car, 1988 was the last year it raced against more modern cars.
The car is now in the  Fangio museum, sadly there are just few pictures around, none of the engine or the suspension.

Hi from Argentina!! and apologies for my bad english!
