Post Whariti Event report:

Car all sorted bout 4pm Fri Night which left me 2hrs to complete the 10x trophies for the actual prize winners!

spot the Radiator shield/air dam, Inline filler and relocated 'catch' can
So Sat rolls round : Sign in 8am Tui HQ, get car Scrutineered OK (sorted extra padding/Wheel nut and battery cover like requested at remote Scrutineer)
Head up road to Event, bum around till 11am : drivers briefing and line up for a "Tiki" tour, head off and only make it up half way before notice revs are a bit happy in 2nd gear = broken axle grrrrrr
loose forward momentum and have to stop/try and turn around, TRY!!

cant back out, have to wait for everyone to come back past, they all think I have crashed (Like my 1st run last year)
soooooooo tow out ease it back down and pull axle, find the good side had killed the bearing so off to The Weir House (coined new name) to 'borrow' 2 axles
got back in time to get it together and complete 2 reasonably good runs
1st run : keep teling myself just drive it wont be fastest etc, NEK MINNIT

what you are looking at is my tire line now 2km from the start less than a foot away from a pretty decent drop! was only doing 100kph or so, turns out I didn't repair RR shock proper (Did not find this till Sunday morning) making handling at speed/in straight line a bit hairy!
really really wish I had turned camera on for this run but seeing as was 1st did not think it was gunna be worth it :/
should have seen officials/other competitors faces when I turn up finsh with a fair amount of foliage adorning front of the car (could not see road for fern just after)

Run 2 less eventful, removed 20l of water from back seat (incase rad was not good 1st run : all seemed fine, suspect dodgy gauge/sensor now) thus turned out to be my fastest run of the weekend
Saturday: Turn up to slush/wet condition overnight, had to get 4wd guy to tow car out of pit-paddock, figure better jack it up and see what rattles : grr RR shock, cant do much, top nut is tight etc, has punched hole in top of housing bugger, ahh well
Run 1 : very ruff road conditions all goes good, except I only secure 1x bonnet pin and stop just past my previous tire tracks in the grass and yell at spectator till they secure the second

spin out on a photography corner, at least 3 gusy there, Strobe blazing, miss one and stall/flood engine, 10 min run (by far slowest)
Run 2 : uneventful until 2/3rds way up the hill, where I undo all the hard work repairing exhaust from Friday and it shears off just past the 4-1 collector

Video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tylh6HGREnEturns out the floor gets quite hot there and if you spot smoke thats the Co-drivers nice white shoe-heel melting
Run 3: get asked to take the local Council Rep for a hoon, she suits up and I warn her not to put foot there

good run, no drama's roads ruttign quite baddly now
Run 4 : roll up to start, Peter (previous owner before me) mentions oil drip, uhoh

he offers to sell me the sump guard they used, but bit late right now! top'er up and off
Video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iopX9TFCOIwall goes good, is fastest time of the day for me and the RR shock issue rears its head 2/3rds way up, I start hearing bad rubbing around Axle and imagine the spring has fallen out, well turns out close
good side :

bad side:

bit bendier than it should be and sounded like it was dragging its ass/rear valance over the bigger bumps!

results were live here :
http://chrissport.co.nz/results/2012/whariti/qualifying.htmI did not come last and car sounded great on song sans-exhaust!
back to Tui HQ for BBQ dinner and prize giving, turns out I dropped my Front Number plate uo the hill and they had great joy returning it to me in front of everyone hahah, won spot prize of Tui-mato Sauce and was dubbed "The Avenger Man"
reckon I got the most cheers of any competitor and everyone seemed to love the Strobe lights!!
never bothered changing tires all weekend : Sunday was just too wet/road conditions bad so was concentrating on having fun, which I did

all I need now is Avenger.co.nz t-shirt and sticker on roll cage for video, sort suspension out and ready to roll next event!
