So yea in case you didn't notice "Dodge" revinvented / reused the Avenger Badge on a series of new cars which we have a fair few of in NZ (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/SearchResults.aspx?searchstring=dodge+avenger&searchregion=100&from=fav&shipping=all&sort_order=default)

here is a forum dedicated to them which does also acknowledge "us" classic Avenger too https://www.avengerforumz.com/ (https://www.avengerforumz.com/)

One in Particular I might like to own one day, the 3.5L RT AWD version seems a dream

Dodge Avenger Coupe (1994–2000)

Introduced as a two-door coupe in North America, the Dodge Avenger was built from 1994 to 2000 in a similar size and price class as the Dodge Daytona, which was discontinued in 1993. The Avenger, along with the similar Chrysler Sebring coupe, was built by Diamond Star Motors (DSM), a joint venture between Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors

It was re-introduced to the market as a four-door sports sedan starting in 2008. The 2014 model year marked the last production for the Avenger, as models for both the Dodge and Chrysler brands were consolidated into the single 2015 Chrysler 200 model,.[1] while Dodge received the compact Dart based on the same platform.[2][/font]

While EACH incarnation of the Avenger nameplate hold their own special "charms", and yes I remember the US version of the Cricket(I am that old), The OLDER the version the better! But I will admit being biased towards the 95 - 00 Coupe model they came out with in v - 6 trim!. Unfortunately here in my RUST BELT area of the state of New York, the Cricket/Avenger is long gone. and even my preferred model is RARELY seen.
To all you ORIGINALS, best wishes and dreams that you keep yours rolling along!

welcome to the forums and thanks for your feedback! No-one seems to mention the 2door 'new' version

edit have updated OP with this info as it seems I overlooked the point there were two distinct New Generations

Yes, Mine is a '98 Teal green minus the the tinted headlights and "sun roof"! They DO look the "cat's eyes" in their own way!

Bit like my "White wall's" I'm not sure I feel excited about those hah

one of the reviews for the 2007+ shape (how do you guys on the "Z" define the different Gen's?) references the Cricket & similar body Styling's of the hip line etc

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2008-dodge-avenger-r-t-awd-short-take-road-test (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2008-dodge-avenger-r-t-awd-short-take-road-test)

QuoteThe Avenger still trails the Honda Accord in refinement and driving enjoyment, but it’s a solid effort. Given our choice of options, we’d stick to front-wheel drive and maybe even opt down to the 2.7-liter engine, which is more attractive on fuel economy and value.

I also note the "No a Hemi wont fit threads" hah, SRT4's (the suggested 'upgrade motor) are rare here we're more of a Subaru Country tho 'if' I ever found one for a project car reckon might ruin a few peoples outlook on these LOL (daydreaming of a EJ20T AWD swap) that will never happen

QuoteThere's no denying the Avenger's visual presence.

Sure, it's a bit of a facade. The Avenger after all is no more of a muscle car underneath than its seventies namesake

No vinyl roof, but great value for money all the same.

As in all makers with worldwide distribution, there are "brands/models" that do not get to every country. With the afore mentioned "Avenger site" based mainly with North American continent use and sales, yes they did make the SEDAN available to a lot more countries for a while. But here I will try and generalize the "breakdown" of classing our "reincarnated" rides.
1994 -2000 ...1st gen COUPE version (NO 4dr.)
2001-2006 ...2nd gen Coupe version and POOR sales
2007-2010 ...1st gen SEDAN version (NO coupes)
2011-2014 ... 2nd gen SEDAN version (basically body "face lift" and mech./electrical upgrades)

And SADLY the "name plate" has been "retired" again (at least in North America)

One "claim to fame" for the 94-00 coupe was that the U.S. IROC series used the body for 2 series seasons. Wish they could have developed those racer RWD cars into for the public production rides!

available in 2.7 FWD platform usually, and up to a 3.5 R/T AWD version, which the top one appears to not be etc, without asking the seller or getting their hopes up looking for a rear Diff

they (Dealers) will contiinue to perpetuate the AWD myth of these cars

I will bet a Buck there are NO 4wd Dodge Avengers in NZ

and yes, I know they do exist and were manufactured in this configuration

eg just to clarify they are FWD

Carjam is really weird on that car

It says it is the 2.7L version, which according to Wikipedia is the small V6, which should have a 4 speed, but it's got the 6 speed auto.

And Carjam does say it is 4WD

So I bet the dealer is just looking at what is on Carjam

Yes correct I have a couple of Replies & yeah Trademe has 'Auto populated' the form for them probably with Carjam API Data

and

wonder how "we" can help "fix" this...

Just leads to NZTA

QuoteVehicle details are incorrect. What can I do?
21-Jul-2008 FAQ

When a vehicle’s details are recorded incorrectly on the Motor Vehicle Register (MVR), these can be corrected by sending an Application to Change Vehicle Details (form MR16, available at any New Zealand Transport Agency  agent) to the NZTA Most MR16 forms need to be sent with supporting documentation to prove that the information recorded on the MVR is incorrect i.e. if the vehicle model is recorded incorrectly we would require documents from the manufacturer to prove this before a change would be made.

The data that makes up a CarJam report comes directly from the NZTA. CarJam is unable to make changes to a vehicle’s data. NZTA has kindly advised us of the above procedure to follow in the case of incorrect vehicle details.

and I suspect would only affect one Car at a time
