... where the tank neck fits into the rear panel.
Can some kind soul post up a picture of the grommet and explain how its held in, as the lips on the hole through the back panel seem rather too small to hold it in.
Thanks.
from memory, pull the filler neck off, (it is only held in place by the tightness of the rubber seal on the tank) then put the grommet on the neck and reinstall, you will notice the grommet is moulded to suit the rear panel.
From memory there was no clamps or screws holding the filler neck or grommet in place, only the tightness of the fuel tank rubber which explains why Avengers rattle so much!
I was removing the tank (easy job) when I took it apart so I dont know if there is enough room with the tank in place to be able to get the filler neck out, but the tank was in place when I put the filler neck back in
Have a new one at home, I'll take a photo after work. There's a raised lip on the filler tube and the rubber grommet is radially split through the centre to sit over it, then it just slips into the rear panel, a little bit of silicone grease will help and not destroy the rubber.
Here you go, the washer is there just to show the split. (http://imgur.com/peWQsJx)
