care to elaborate the problem?

do you have a heavy bunch of keys on it or something? or is it the back end or the akey bit thats breaking?

might have a spare if you get stuck

Its the eletronic back end that is held in by a single phillips head screw on the ignition barrel. The first 2 were working fine but then would skip acc and on and you had to hold the key manually in an exact position to keep the car running. This one is now taking a few flicks to engage the starter motor

That may not be a switch fault..it could be the starter motor or connections to it.
To find out pull off the starter solenoid wire coming from the switch and put a test light or voltmeter on it to earth. Then get a friend to turn the ignition to the start position a few times..the light/voltmeter will register the current flow each time if the switch is good.

When I turn the key to attempt to engage the starter motor the rest of the electronics in the car "dip" i.e. show a loss of current that is usually attributed to sending power to the starter motor, but the starter motor doesn't turn until I've flicked it to that position again a few times. I was thinking about it and this seems very similar to the worn brushes I had on my old mk4 Cortina, Starter motor wouldn't engage on that until I gave it a few taps with a hard object. Only thing is I've just had this starter motor rebuilt about a month ago because the clutch fork inside it snapped and i'm pretty sure they said they did the brushes too, I'll give your solution a go though and see what happens, cheers for the help guys, sorry if i'm coming off a little abrupt, just a bit annoyed because its my daily
