QuoteBadge engineering has been part of the auto industry ever since someone figured out the magical mix of calculus and alchemy that somehow makes money by selling the same car under different names. I've never been entirely sure how this actually works, but it must
The Mini? Austin, Morris, Riley, Wolsley, Leyland, BMC, BLMC, Rover. Shit that's only 8.
We never had a classic Dodge Avenger here in NZ. We just had the Hillman and Chrysler Avengers. We have the modern Dodge Avenger which is made by Chrysler not Mitsubishi.
Sold as Dodge Avenger in South Africa according to Wikipedia.
I'm sure Australia got Rootes/Simca vehicles rebadged as Chryslers or Mitsubishis. Or maybe it was Mitsubishis rebranded as Chryslers?

Australia did get Rootes cars like the Hunter but they didn't get the Avenger, it was still called a Hillman Hunter over there.
They also rebranded some of the Mitsubishis as Chryslers like the Chrysler Valiant Galant and Chrysler Sigma.
Dodge Scorpion was the sigma iirc
"we" have a contender!
Quote4. Subaru Bighorn
(http://autoguide.com.vsassets.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Subaru-Bighorn.jpg)
The Isuzu Trooper may be the most rebadged automobile in history. At one point or another, versions of the Trooper were sold by Acura, Chevrolet, Holden, Honda, Opel, SsangYong, Vauxhall and, yes, Subaru.
Called the Bighorn, Subaru sold the rebadged Trooper from 1988 until 1993 in Japan only. Even though the Trooper would undergo a redesign in 1991, the Subaru Bighorn would soldier on with the first-generation architecture until it was discontinued. The only power plant available was a 2.8-liter turbo diesel.

Did you know that the argentinian avenger got another "sibling" in the form of a utility small truck?
here it comes the ENIAK DURANGO, the cabin engine bay and the engine all were took from the avenger
2 versions were made, a 1000 4x2 1500cc and a 4x4 1800cc
the manfacturer, Eniak made another very rare sport car with the 1500 engine and rear end.

another because it comes up every now & then : # 3 on this list with 9x names
Izuzu and the Chevette top it for #2 and #1 spots
the Article begins with #5 the Kia Pride or Mazda 121 : with 6x Brand names around the Globe
and @ #4 the Hillman Hunter (8x Brand Names)
QuoteReturning to Hillman and its Rootes/Chrysler parent, the Hunter’s younger saloon sibling, the Avenger, went one better by wearing an astonishing nine different brand names during its long 20-year lifespan. In the UK the Avenger began life in 1970 as a Hillman, with the model’s brand name changed to Chrysler in 1976 as part of a facelift, only to soon be changed again in 1979 to Talbot when Peugeot PSA acquired Chrysler’s ailing European operation and rebrand all adopted models as Talbots (including the French Simcas).
In mainland Europe, the Avenger was badged as a Sunbeam (1250, 1500, 1600, etc.) with the car known as a Plymouth (Cricket) in the USA, and as a Dodge (Polara and 1500/1800) in South Africa, Brazil and Argentina. When cash-strapped Chrysler pulled out of South America, Volkswagen took over its local operations, confusingly re-branding the Avenger as the VW 1500 in Argentina, where the model remained in production until 1990! The Avenger’s ninth manufacturer name was Paykan, with the model briefly produced in Iran as a more affordable alternative to the popular Hunter-based saloon. So, nine different brand names for the Hillman Avenger.
