I have a 79 Chrysler and am replacing the track control arms with new old stock from an ebay seller. I have noticed that the new arms are about half an inch shorter than the ones i've taken off. After a bit of research i've found that the later models had the longer TCA's. My question is will putting the smaller arms on the 79 affect the camber too much and if so is there anyway of adjusting this?
You've got Hillman ones by mistake! Camber is not adjustable on Avengers. As well as the wrong camber, your toe-in will be wrong too, as the Chrysler's have a wider steering rack.
Maybe you can return them and swap for the correct Chrysler ones?
Thanks for the response. They were the last they had in stock so no chance of swapping them for the correct ones. I have messaged avengerparts to see if he has any and have been trawling ebay to see if anymore around. Means its gonna be off the road until i can get some.
Avengerparts/ graeme is on holiday for two weeks starting the other day, just if he doesn't get back to u right away
thanks for the heads up about graeme. Im sure i can wait a few more weeks as had to 4 weeks for the wrong parts anyway!!
Whats even worse than getting the wrong bits is trying to sell them to someone else. Hillman shouldn't be too bad though. Ive ordered a handbrake cable that I was told would fit my car but they are sunbeam, nightmare
id buy the arms off you if you are interested in selling
