Hi and welcome to the forum.

We are mostly an Avenger forum but I will try to help you out as best I can.

I just finished restoring my 1975 Avenger (See build thread here http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=13.0 (http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=13.0) ) I got all my rubbers from a place called Reid & Twiname, up in Auckland. They make generic rubber seals so I just took in a sample of each of the seals I needed then they matched it. Here is there website http://www.retwine.co.nz/ (http://www.retwine.co.nz/)

Also another place to look for Hunter parts is one of our members Graeme a.k.a "avengerparts" He imports rootes group parts so he should have plenty of Hunter parts for you. Just send him a PM with what parts you want.

Your Quadcam V8 sounds interesting. I have just started work on my own Toyota 1UZ Quadcam V8 powered Avenger. http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=548.0 (http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=548.0)

Yup, Your IP Address only gives you a rough idea of where in the world a user is from, it is usually more where the ISP is located or the closest major city. It's probably accurate to about 100km.

Scary thing is that every website you go to knows where you are coming from, for example, go to Google maps and click on the little current location button (just above the street view icon).

Or even worse, this site could not only tell which street I live on but got as close as my neighbour's house just from my IP address http://ctrlq.org/maps/where/ (http://ctrlq.org/maps/where/)

I get a lot of spammers trying to join the forum so I have software installed that will tell me roughly where users are connecting from. Most the spammers are out of Russia, China or Indonesia, countries like that.

Anyway, back to topic

Yup, I also check how they found the forum and what they did when they first got here.

I.e if they found the forum with a google search of "Hillman Avengers" and they had a look around then registered then you know it is a legit user.

But if they came in with a google search of "Forums Powered by SMF 1.1.18" and went straight to the registration page then you know they are a spammer.

I have to judge each new registration to see if they are spammers or not. I just checked with one of my anti-spam programs I have installed and it said it has blocked 1159 spammers so far. then I have another program which would block at least that again. Then if they get through both those plus the image verification challenge then I need to manually approve them after checking how they found the site etc. It is a pretty huge job, we used to get 20-30 spammers a day trying to join, now that is down to one every few weeks and they are from poor countries where they paid people to manually try to join forums then spam.
