Really cheap alpine!!! this looks like a bargin. $900ono!

In the auction they say it is a 1300 but carjam says it is a 1600 "Hillman Avenger Alpine SLS" Never heard of an SLS model, think they may mean GLS. It is an auto also.

Yeah you better buy it before I do Jarrod...LOL

That's a super rare Alpine/GLS hybrid...
As they were changing over to the Chrysler models, the last of the Hillman Alpines had Chrysler bits like the GLS vinyl roof and the mag steel wheels...also fitted with Valiant upholstery because the Alpine interior was no longer being made..!!
I remember the last of the Hunters had the Valiant upholstery too.
It may also have a 1.75" single carb rather than the twin 1.5's fitted to earlier Alpines.

Somebody buy that car NOW...!!
Quote from: NZTiger on May 30, 2012, 10:25:59 PM
Its not a hybrid or half Alpine/GLS.

Todds started making these in January 75 and were an addition to the Alpine in the Avenger range. I remember following the pilot build car through the factory when I stared at Todds, it was Apache red with beige roof.
They were only made as autos so mechanically they were an auto Alpine with upgrade trim. As with Alpine they had twin 150 Strombergs initially which changed to a single 1.75 for the last ones built in 77. They were all 1600cc.

Detail differences..
Vinyl roof extended onto boot as UK GLS
Silver grill instead of black
Adjustable Valiant door mirrors
rev counter
New plush seats with the front seats having adjustable headrests that used the back frame from the Galant 1850 grafted to the Avenger cushion. Fabric was an option for the first time in the Avenger range. Vinyl and fabric materials were common to all Todd assembled cars of the time. Note the fabric was rubbish and was bad affect with UV.
Centre console extended to surround auto shifter
Door trims had carpet insert along the bottom.
Side mouldings
Rear door switches for interior light
There are probably more....

NOW can anyone give me a Valuation on this car in its current state?

keen to "fully" insure it, I have said to broker 3k inc. mags and tires, Higher/lower?

first impressions : HAPPY DANCE

after I found the light switch : has bee altered to a pull type near choke, everything works, front left has wobble on it, left rear has something wrong, jacked up tire is still on the ground,

215's do not fit under the rears and had to go on the front

205's now on back (what I had in shed)

1x Toyo T1R
1xBridgstone
1xKingstar
1x Linglong

bahahhahahahah already pissing ppl off : may keep them on for as long as I can!

diff whine needs sorting/checking, will pop on hoist to see if anything else needs attention/is trying to kill me

Colour code is AR for the record too :p

inspected valve springs = doubles = OEM motor

replaced a worn ball join, adjusted diff a tad, ignoring handbrak issues for now : focusing on things that can kill me

Solexes on bench next to it just itching to get in, they are better than the Strombergs by far aye?

need to learn more about these auto's

and get proper Filters for them, currently have "Ramflo's on, and not heard much good stuff about them/not enuff flow

Solex's run like a Bag of poo, starts idles a tad high and backfires/chuff's might need an expert/try the set of TC's that came with race moter/back to Single Carb for simplicity

Revs fine but with hesitation, came off one of Peter/Trevor Weirs cars so I know they are semi ok

also discovered I have the rare Twin choke cable too!

Fatties yeaaaaaaaah
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/JoKerNZ/2011/Avenger/Fatties059.jpg)
only have 2x currently, sprayed OEM steel to match : pretty hideous mismatch, 175's on both rims
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/JoKerNZ/2011/Avenger/Fatties061.jpg)

Hotwires still win (ever so slightly over Turbos), can get some Cortina steels for $10, might look into that for fronts if I ever rock the fatties

headlight's dont work any-more after a few bumps on way hm grrr, started off at just no Highbeam on the weekend

edit : on and yea both rear shocks have punched through into the boot/top of their covers, almost certain wrong items BUT they do do a good job

aim to paint tow bar black also : I hate it but not enuff to remove it!

Lost low beam again

removed dash/shifter stuff

re-glued stuff and was amazed at the mechanical oil pressure line!

a few lights missing from behind dash, had a shuffle and I now have high beam indicator!

need new light for shifter, touched up/resprayed steering wheel

be like new shortly!

also remembered I should have rubber for screen in shed from my '78

Pre Summit : decide to have a wee tidy up of cabin area

remove dash/speedo, a few lights missing! was wondering where my High beam light was, glue auto gear indicator back together and fix light!

Lick of paint over the centre console, and tidy up of the upholstery on the dash, made pockets to fill gaps next to stereo out of screw containers, installed 12v Accessory (ciggy lighter) in blank above fan switch, more hot glue

Packed

and on way back

no majors, lost low beam again :/ having to hold in "hi flash" position to engage low beam, high beam is fine, frustrating

bout 280km on a tank/38 litres = 7.2 km/L (drag coefficient of the pedals lowering it a tad)

Discovered I have a light in the glove box (currently not working) a Working Steering wheel lock! I have to take key out proper to engage it, and the ignition is pretty flogged/can start with a screwdriver, not that they are highly secure in first place

aim to remedy that shortly (neighbour is locksmith or by other means)

13x7" Hotwires (have 205's on them = rub city, reckon if I chuck my 175;s all round they should work fine OR slicks for race car)

still having issues with lights specifically the contacts in behind the stalks for high and low beam, might resort to buying something new :/

Went and pillaged the blue/purple Alpine down at Wilfs for its indicator stalk

this the ciggy lighter thingy you were on about Rich? And moss on the windscreen might imply how ling its been there (willing to guess 20+ years given its location, moisture inside was evident on the hood lining from good frost this morning

Last part in the puzzle was this fuse hiding under the Valiant switch

my 'pockets' made from half a screw jar from Mitre10 (sans dash)

Went Manfield and had a heap of fun learning to drive My AUTO!

1,49's on the Yokohama's (rear, Enduro's front) and 1,44's on the Slicks, which as ya can see flat-spotted/wore out one good, which I blame for loosing a bolt holding the Air filter housing on, so I am searching for one of these big headed screws

also lost battery clamp out on track, was returned to me less one long bolt, Repco to the rescue, battery was resting on dipstick/dizzy when I opened bonnet

last thing I lost was the headlights coming back over the Saddle Road INTERESTING moment, was following a car so stayed close and bought new 30A fuse (se previous post) which I could access vis switch hole/pull dash out a bit...

Met ken who was piloting Neil's Cha''venger, Neil was in the Hump'mobile (also Hemi Charger powered)

oh and vids

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj9Ikzby9Yo

Bit of a Drift moment on road tires/last session of the day

Did 5 in total, all about 10 mins, 1st and last were on the Hotwires, bo brake fade, some over heating occured when I left the gear in "3" learnt to drive between that and "D"

used half a tant of 98 fuel, about 70 kms on track with my foot buried in the carpet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RZ4ar7xaf0

that's coming thru the "essses" and hairpin, only issues now are I reckon trans needs fluid change, as stick in something low and takes a bit of warming up to get to highway speed

1st turn of the track was notorious for me knocking it into "N" which was frustration too! (missed race seats heaps, other knee was on door for left turns)

Edit : top speed was 140kph on the straights via the Speedo (which I have verified with my GPS previously is correct on the Hotwires)

New vs old Cork Rocker cover gasket, not sure if split was there before i tried to remove it, also notices a few spots where it had collapsed into the cover perhaps causing some leakage

tidied up trans Sump

got a surprise to see all the patent numbers in their respective countries listed!

4 liters of new fluid in, seems to be running a tad low (Haynes bible says 6L capacity) seems to have improved drive-ability a tad, installing new kick-down was not fun as I dared not remove more than the sump cover and filter (not much access to the cable termination)

sits in between the yoke and the shoe

I guess they are not crucial?

Hi Jared,

Was talking with Andrew here in Ak yesterday, he has BW35 and BW45 gearboxes from a Hunter, is willing to sell. The BW35 is stronger but uses a cable operated control, not rod as on the BW45.

andrew.shaw@progressive.co.nz

BTW the H tab in your rear brakes is necessary to keep the handbrake lever travel within limits and the leverage angles correct, otherwise too much free play at the handbrake lever and a poor handbrake.
Pretty easy to make them out of scrap steel.

Cheers
Ross

This is how wrong

Triumph BW35 on left vs My Auto BW45 on right, totally different bolt patterns on bell and tail

still yet to sack up and revisit this with a ruler : have another 35 option (still have a budget in the red for repairs till early next year)

so ok : bolt spacing on the "new" 35 is same as the Triumph box as in wrong :/ but with room to move/slot some holes so maybe not impossible!

or am I better to leave the tail/output ans shorten or source a better fiting Driveshaft?

Looks like a big job adapting those suckas...how bad is your 45 box...anyone looked inside it to see what it needs?
Another option is to convert to manual...even a 5 speed as you'll have the auto bell housing to use!!

Ian's a good chap, have just spoken to him and he's happy to refund/pickup

so far best suggestion is to pop in a Triumph 6 to match the working box :)

only reason I bought the car is the AUTO aspect (and price and trim secondry) otherwise manualling it is not really in my favour

gentle bump for the 45 mentioned above :]

so far I have to assume all 35's are different bolt spacing and not a simple swap

BW45 tail is 100mm BW35 114.3mm (or whatever imperials are for the similar stud pattern etc

Bells are 140mm BW45, and 95mm BW35 (as mentioned this part is not the main issue : could redrill and make work, heaps of meat in the flanges

click able thumbnail for reference (same pic as on last page)

getting it sent back, will keep up the hunt, may have to visit the Corgi guy in Woodyville or get imaginative with adapters / something

also amazed no one has said "I told you so"

pic-less update but IT HAS ARRIVED!!

via the OS courier and last weekend Bike Summit in Taupo (I missed it/was last OS meet the year before I drove this car there) 10-5 passed a slushie, san-Bellhousing, onto UTERUS who called in last night on the was to the Palmy Swap-meat, an awkward happy dance ensued and Scrumpy was exchanged

So I just gotta bolt up my Bell and reinstall converter (shouldn't be hard right? the on out of the HN6783 was near brand new in last few years according to James so plan to reuse that) and bolt to car, filler up and dort!

psst need my starter back Kierbier :P

any tips/tricks i should watch out for?

Now sporting this Starter from my '72

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/JoKerNZ/2005479525_photobucket_149789_.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/JoKerNZ/media/2005479525_photobucket_149789_.jpg.html)

yes thats got a 'remote' starter switch on it, like a Mini

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/JoKerNZ/2005479525_photobucket_149791_.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/JoKerNZ/media/2005479525_photobucket_149791_.jpg.html)

only dumb thing is once it fires it disengages, so cold starting is a bit of a mish, ie might fire on 1 or 2 cylinders but not hold and die, starter disengages, so you literally have t re-try a couple of goes
needed gas and some kick-down fine tuning but is all go

to do list now includes

service good 20/50 oil
Axel pack (rear brakes leaking
and a cube of stop leak , saw at least one pinhole inradiator once it got warm

Post by: oldschool on August 09, 2013, 11:09:48 PM
Jared DO NOT use that inertia starter in your auto...it's the wrong type and will munt your ring gear...and it's own gear too!!
Your ring gear is designed for a pre-engaged starter (with the solenoid built in) that pushes the gear into mesh from the front and the ring gear has a front chamfer to lead the gear into mesh.
An inertia starter spins the gear into mesh from the rear, so needs a rear chamfer to lead the gear into mesh, in other words the ring gear is fitted the other way around.
I think James in Waipukurau would have a pre-engaged starter or plenty at Smash Palace. Hillman and Chrysler Avenger pre-engaged starters are the same.

can do them knurled, slotted or both.

I am told the TC badge I'm thinking of might be a Triumph thing & an old owner may have got badge happy

anyway this is the first time the world has seen the below image

waiting VERY patiently for the WOF man to open up to get the car Legal & Paint to harden off/settle before venturing outdoors

I am also recommended to try some 2-stroke oil in the fuel to try & free up the suspected sticky Valve (makes a cute whistling sound)

I had a TC once, the set up looked like as seen in this photo, it was black in colour

yea I thinking that the TC badge I seen on one once wasnt factory / OEM

its also missing the Blue Hillman bit & worrying that it will be 'over badged' or on other hand might balance to boot out nicely left/right with 'flair' lol

making bookings now for Leadfoot, going to try & get in with the rest of Oldschool.co.nz for a sweet display / reveal

The Hillman bit was also black at least it was on my car, but articles also say the interior on the TC models only came in black, mine was tan/white with brown carpets, if you really want a blue Hillman bit I have seen them on eBay from time to time. It is not clear in the photo but the TC bit was a separate badge.

Head-gasket gone again

what happened?

Points burnt out so I filed them & tried to reset gap on the fly, started burning out again (tryin to drive 50km out of town / shops shut no new points available)

guess it got hot / running bad

(temp gauge on the blitz : error 404)

either that OR that's my punishment for not re-torquing head as recommended...

left a message with Graham / avenger parts in PN, car hm & I'm moping, might take time to check head proper, looked kinda like the heater hose has got hot on head & split :(

discuss in the link @ top of page pls

Nick says I need a new / replacement head & Valves due to cracks & stuff

sooo what's my best option?

I do have the Blue one (on the back or the tow truck scroll up) thats also a 76 Alpine TC (only difference is manual)

a 72 1500 (brown one in pic) which i drove to where it is now (nothing in the one to the left of it)

https://www.instagram.com/p/BFu62KLSo2v/?taken-by=akiwijoker (https://www.instagram.com/p/BFu62KLSo2v/?taken-by=akiwijoker)

with the thought that a 1500 head on a 1600 block ups compression / power? but is that what I want / need with an automatic car?

then there's the Chrysler Wagon newest & possibly the best bet in my mind?

https://www.instagram.com/p/BBMOupNSox4/?taken-by=akiwijoker (https://www.instagram.com/p/BBMOupNSox4/?taken-by=akiwijoker)

was also a runner till parked up on pete's farm & the springs raided for the Rally car / not entirely sure if its a 1600 (no reason to think otherwise) has LPG / CNG fitted, will this have affected it in any way?

gave Kiera my original 1600 head off this car Project thread here : http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=40.0 (http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=40.0)

https://www.instagram.com/p/BB8uUxbSo8X/?taken-by=akiwijoker (https://www.instagram.com/p/BB8uUxbSo8X/?taken-by=akiwijoker)

in return I have her 1300 head (or is her's 1600? cant recall) with a burnt out exhaust valve

edit carjam (https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=hi4297) says its CC rating = 1,600cc (still a 1975 / 41 year old head)

that's the immediate simplest option with a new set of valves etc

aware ideally I would like to find a "S" stamped big valve head but happy to use what I have for now without spending squillions

thoughts & input please into the discussion thread : here http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=426.75 (http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=426.75)

The 1600 LPG head will be the best one as they run cleaner than petrol with the valve guides lasting longer.

ace thanks that Ross, what I thought, kinda the point of collecting the bits eh, especially with a competition car I'm quite likely to need some patch panels one day (yes I am trying to justify all those cars to myself even I don't believe me!

or

would the whole motor be better? about as much work to do either innit?

Have you measured the valve sizes on the 1600 head? My 1500 S head was cracked so used the head off my other 1600 engine and the valves were exactly the same size. All the casting marks were still there so it hadnt been machined, also gives you slightly more valve clearances due to the deeper combustion chamber if you want to play around with stroking. Got it fitted with hardened valve seats and bronze valve guides and runs sweet now.

The twin springs might be needed for racing Jared as they provide a 500 rpm higher red line than singles.

appears to be missing 'anything' in the rev counter section?

Its a manual too & for a minute I thought maybe there was a clock there but there doesn't seem to be anything in there, has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Yep, its just what they did. A lot of alpines didn't have rev counters. Its just a blank. I had a brown 75 alpine with twin carbs and manual and it didn't have a rev counter. It wouldn't have cost much more to add one in the factory. Prob chrysler just penny pinching. Lol

In for a wof, speedo had stopped working, here's the problem, lucky i had kept to original box &  2 seconds to retrieve a matching good one, are these similar on a manual box?

thinking ahead to next time, the colour is important apparently
Title: Re: JoKer's '76 HN6783 Daily

The colour determines what ratio diff and gearbox you have in the car.

for example the 3.89:1 manual is white and the 3.89:1 auto is pink. The 4.375:1 manual is light green and the 4.375:1 auto is blue. That is from my 1250/1500 workshop manual, I have some later Haynes manuals if you need the colour for another ratio.

So this made a bad noise this week & resulted in a tow-truck ride, pulled diff cover off & it looks like this

with a wee bit of damage on the drive wheels, does anyone have any thoughts on the damage?, simpler to replace whole Diff & axels etc? Plan A was to just replace the diff itself

Bit the bullet & whipped the rear end out of the Brown Chrysler in the back yard, kept brakes intact & swapped over the axels too, recently had new bearings on one side

back on the road now

Stardate : 93880 kms on the clock (if it were 6 digits pretty sure its 193880

A madmax Avenger would be awesome.

There were quite a few Valiant Chargers in the Mad Max films.

This was from Mad Max 2

And this was from the new Mad Max film

And the mayor of bullet town was driving a tracked Valiant Charger

1000 miles (1654 Kilometers) and 13 days I am home after a "wee" road trip that went Dannevirke > Palmy > Turangi > Pokeno (icecream) > Auckland (Muesem & Airport)> Pukekohe > Hahei > Whitianga a couple of times > Taupo > Napier back to Norsewood & Dannevirke Home

great to put a few more internet names to faces & Volunteering  at Leadfoot was pretty cool

$52 for 12 months rego!

also swapped out the rear shocks as the ones in the car were not keeping the springs captive

which was weird because the top one (longer) have been in the car since I bought it & only seemed to be an issue after I swapped in the Chrysler diff, so nabbed the shocks from it as well, seems a great improvement straight away

front tires were out of round & did a job on the Steering 'box' so new set of tires (I haver a surprise to show you all but not just yet) a universal & Handbrake adjustment was required but we're all set for winter driving now!

Just spoke to Graham & yep the earlier version I have with the adjusters on each end terminates under the Brake Booster so I'm going to try & bodge something up with the kit I have & a universal cable from the bike Shop, or rescue the OEM one from the spare blue car (looks pretty haggard)

failing that revert o mechanical somehow with the parts or pedals from the Cryslers or 1500 in my parts cars

Thats all i did when mine snapped, took it down to the local bike shop and they cut a new cable and slid it into the sleeve, then just silver soldered new ends onto the cable.

Part # CN1070 Tridon

also interesting to note the Paint 'falling off' my reconditioned Radiator, mind you it was fresh / still wet when I installed it before Driving to Leadfoot 2016

Non expansion Tank style (I have not tank) & the other was for a return system etc, might help with running temps (was on the cool side even without the Snow)

keeping eye on the remain Avengers down the road as well

this one has this Datsun on top of it still
(http://i.imgur.com/UnVPesZ.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/UnVPesZ.jpg)
Purlpe GLS under the Washing line is now accessible in front of this AP6 or AP4 Valiant, the last 70's Avenger I want to buy (the Diff I got in the early 2000's off it) & has been in My Rally car ever since
(http://i.imgur.com/EtHnO1Kg.jpg)
this Chysler Avenger
(http://i.imgur.com/8Uy5GvPg.jpg)
and one up the top by the Fence is safe for now
(http://i.imgur.com/aVdI5MX.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/aVdI5MX.jpg)
I have no interest in them but just keeping tabs (https://oldschool.co.nz/uploads/emoticons/default_tongue.png) there were two others I note have gone, Blue one I tee'd up for a guy in Hamilton when Wilf was still around & a Brown one close the drive has gone since
slightly better shot of it, impact damage is to the front of it

What offset rims are they? I have 205/60/r13 on mine with no issues, no guard rolling and can still get my hand between the guard and wheel.

Post by: JoKer on August 26, 2017, 08:42:10 PM
their offset is officially dumb

yea the 17's I had had something similar

205's on back

215's on the front even

actually, I have a Chrysler diff in it now since then, wider track maybe? might measure things tomorrow in the light

Brake booster swap date

had mad brake fade style feel so new Booster hose was 1st try (old was bit squishy)

but no

so out with the old & in wit hthe less older unit from the 78 that was my 1st Avenger that I rolled & scrapped 2007'ish

Dropped it after it was out & a bunch of fluid came out, so yeah not sure how long that had been in there

All better now

Car wouldn't start last week & had a bit of a Miss this morning so got the motivation to fit electronic ignition kit I had

Fuzzy picture

not much to see

Coil, Optical Dizzy, control box & Ballast went in, out came old Points DIzzy (with unobtainable points apparently, had not vac advance neither) coil and a poorly mounted condenser or Capacitor that probably wasn't helping neither

Up'graded' my Volts & coolant temp gauges from my Blue Parts car

full run down here https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/28526-jokers-hillman-avengers/&do=findComment&comment=1930336

copy / paste is below if you do not wish to click link

So a guy from Taupo gets in touch, He's restoring his Mk 1 Avenger (Have learnt in the UK they refer to them as Mk1's & Mk2's for the Classic shape & Chrysler / Later shape)
Has misplaced some very important Plastic pieces for the accelerator peddle & would I mind checking my 'stock'
So I Send him images of these two (Brown 72 1500 & Blue 76 GLS Apline)
and this location of the stuff he might need
(https://i.imgur.com/zcqetCW.jpg)
and my Accelerator pedal for comparison
(https://i.imgur.com/YVqzMFu.jpg)
Man says YEP the green bits & oh my yours have already been lost, I had seen the "U shackles" before & thought thye were not right and they allow a fair bit of slop but are working for now so I can spare at least one set of Bushes / set of 5 plastic pieces he needed
then he sent me an image of his car
(https://i.imgur.com/x6LRAfr.jpg)
Oh LOL TWINS! Auto even
SO I get to stripping, the easiest one, instructions were remove the seat & steering wheel to get better access
(https://i.imgur.com/l8IFkY6.jpg)
Jobs already half done on this one
Figure while I'm at it might as well strip a few other goodies out of it
(https://i.imgur.com/NQ4gfoW.jpg)
Headlight switches, What does the internal turner do? (serious never had one or played with a working one)
Lol Shear bolts on Ign 'not sheared'
Dash not bad, lol no rev counter in Manual? not even a Clock!

Light fitting in the glove box! What is this madness! (checked My GLS & it only has a 'hole') Now I'm curious as to where the switch might be or was
(https://i.imgur.com/odesYAj.jpg)
So dash out & rescue these parts, so at least I know how to get them out of the brown car should my U shackles fail
(https://i.imgur.com/lavGMZJ.jpg)
Might be worth 3d Printing some one day though not expensive from UK from the sounds of it
Back of the Dash
(https://i.imgur.com/Okc4hog.jpg)
31? or 13

got looking at the Dash & LOL 4 digit Odometer? WTF
(turn screen)
So I have a thought as my Coolant temp gauge is iffy & my Volt meter had lost its lettering why not rob / swap some parts over
(https://i.imgur.com/aPHLEmE.jpg)
was Simple enought, 1st test drive I had forgotten to plug speedo back in LOL
even from the same year its crazy to note the differences on the back
Mine is the Left Blue car / donor is the right
(https://i.imgur.com/SR0QAV5.jpg)
so yeah, Coolant temp works better now & My Volt Gauge says" Volts" and I figured out why the Handbrake warning light doesn't work : there is not circuit in the loom for it! may get around to that one day

Dial in the end of the headlight switch is for dimming the dashlights, as for the glovebox i have a light but no switches?

Nothing much to report though did manage to finally catch up with and meet the owner of this on the weekend

He gave me a car for the Humber / Hillman Car club too which Graeme Ekins (aka "avengeraparts (http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10)" on here) is a part of too, his Hunter is on the right part of their Club Display

Ken gave me their contact

Was quite neat to have them side by side & compare the little things like Strip Height & roof colour and even the Later model Towbar option and the "By Chrysler" Badge on his

And I have since learned fro my Instagram post (http://www.avenger.co.nz/forum/www.instagram.com/p/BtHmJVrgOnu) that the Chrysler Avenger is one of the only cars you can operate the Indicators without any key being on, design feature / flaw? Or could have been peculiar to the commentator's car they were working on at the time maybe?

bough those replacements and something was not right

https://youtu.be/LyNTF-o6nbI (https://youtu.be/LyNTF-o6nbI) (Youtube clip)

Car would start, run then stop abruptly every time, we'd get rev's, or Idle & same thing every time

Started looking at Wiring / modules coil etc (only seriously yesterday tbh)

that's a basic diagram (because I had misplaced my Haynes)

had a mate looking her over, he says "hey you've not got that jumper #5"

makeshift Jumper, which I'll probably never upgrade

And I've driven my car to work (2.5km / 5 mins) for the first time in 4 months!

cant believe something simple, we've pulled fuel hoses off, checked Carb Diaphragms and traced wires, and all it "seemed to be" (we'll test drive around town for a few weeks first)

was one little Jumper that was never there : super odd!
