14" Widened steelies and lowness! and thats it. DO NOT Lower it on modgeys with eigars and a Dumpy exhaust.

Hell yes!! We had an old cortina wagon when I was a kid with a visor and monsoons.

A lot of my Valiant mates run Visors on their safari's.

And one of my other mates had an old Jeep which was all black with black monsoons. Looked soo mean.

I agree that it needs a monsoon & a sun visor over the windscreen but venetian blinds might be a bit much haha.

Avenger Monsoons are awful though. The window is too small! Maybe if they covered the Quaterlight as welll...

hahah Choice As,

yeah i was thinking about some nice steelies?? what sort??

Im going 2 re-core the radiator, 4 brand new 175/r13s which will give it just a bit of a cleaner look plus handle a bit nicer round corners, put a descent sound system in it, maybe re-do the wooden deck, [ long run]

what about extractors with a clean nice brand new exhaust system, giving it a beautiful sound.

yeah??

Cheers Mikey.

Hey Mikey,

I will have extractors for sale (and possible the whole 2.5" exhaust for sale for a 4 door Avenger) later this week (was brand new Nov last year). You'd be able to lengthen it and still use it for a fraction of the brand new price.

:)

If you are going to do up your exhaust you will want to look at the other side of the operation as well. I had mine built to handle delortos and the single 1.75 stromburg doesn't quite cut it. It does sound quite nice, though. Drowns out the nasty noise coming from the tappets! ;)

Keep in mind that twin carbs of any sort (eg Stromberg or Dellorto) will increase your gas consumption considerably.

The larger exhaust will give you much more top end on it's own, and a nice sound :D

I also have some twin strombergs with manifold but would need to be gone over with the carb kit (which I also have) which can be done for a mean price too! Hahaha.

If you can find yourself a large Stromburg off a late model Alpine like Oldschool and I have on our cars that's a good option. I had mine rebuilt 4 or 5 years ago and it hasn't given me any grief ever. Twin Carbs take a lot more mucking about to keep them in tune.

You do see a reasonable number of cars with single downdraft Webers so that could be another option. It doesn't quite seem right to me, but people wouldn't put the effort into installing them for no reason surely?

Cheers For all of that fellas,

Nickolai, yeah man, no doubt ill keep that in mind bro, i could definitly be keen on those extractors ae, but not 2 sure about the exhaust system yet.

blekkja, Cheers for that mate, thats true i full y understand where your comin g from ae, but im trying 2 keep her in s original conditon as possible, but yeah.

Im looking for a loud, but not too loud, beautiful sound for the veng, so its not 2 over the top, but still sounds real good.
hahahaha

Cheers Mikey.
