Hi guys.
As some of you guys and girls may know my Avenger is undertaking a bit of an extreme makeover, While we are waiting for my wheels to arrive from the states the wizards at Bygone Autos have been hard at work doing my "Brake upgrade of maximum stoppage"
I went down today to check out the work thus far and check out the plans for the rest on the braking system.
Bygone have fully rebuilt the Volvo 4 pot brakes off my race car and they look mint. When we took the old brake pads out we found that the rotor wasn't going to all the way to the edge of the pad so we needed to find some bigger rotors. We tried some Capri ones but they weren't much bigger so we decided to make some what of a "European Union" braking system and tried some BMW vented rotors. They look a perfect size for the pads and with some magic from Bygone Autos they should be able to get them bolted up.
The plan is to then use a diesel alternator to provide vacuum to get round the problem of lower vacuum due to the dual carbs and lumpy cam. Also looking at changing the booster/master cylinder setup to dual curcuit
On to the photos
Volvo 4 pot calipers all rebuilt and looking damn good

Hi guys.
Just another quick update with some pictures of the rotor and calipers setup on my old strut. This will be all transferred over to the racing strut when it goes back in my '75

Will you be converting the rear to discs too?
Probably not at this stage.
We thought about it but as I am not rallying the car then it is probably better off having a bit of front braking bias. I always have the handbrake if I want to go sideways after all.
i would like to see ur Avenger go sideways ;)
Just a quick update. Plumbing is done, new rotor is fitted.
It is all ready to go on the car now.
