Title: Dodge 1500 de Argentina
Post by: rodrigo1500arg on April 18, 2011, 01:11:51 PM
Hello to everyone. My name is Rodrigo, I'm from Argentina and I own a Dodge 1500. This car is very similar to the Hillman Avenger, Dodge 1500, I believe on the basis of Hillman. Argentina came in 2 versions that frabric 1500 a Chrysler and the other version the Volkswagen factory.
The 1500 Dodge began its manufacture in 1971 and was the first midsize car built in Argentina, by an American company. Since 1980, when Argentina gained by Volkswagen Chrysler, Dodge 1500 Dodge became known - Volkswagen 1500 and in 1982 he called Volkswagen 1500 (with redesigned front and rear)
From 1982 to 1990 and is manufactured by Volkswagen
Vokslwagen models came with options such as:
-air conditioning
-alloy wheels
-automatic gearbox
Went 2 versions of engines: a 1.5 = 1500cc and 1800cc other than 1.8 =
All engine versions had family members with available 1.8cc and board included.
It also came two sporty versions of the Dodge 1500:
-Dodge 1500 GT-100 that developed a power of 100hp
-Dodge 1500 GT-90 that develops an output of 90hp
None of the 2 companies that produce it pulled a coupe version.
Well that's a little imformacion of the Volkswagen Dodge 1500 and 1500.
This imformacion put it here and then presented me with my car in the other gallery.

the other 2 photos are of the Volkswagen 1500 and the last of the wagon

Thanks heaps for all that info.

I have heard that in 1988 they came out with a 5 speed manual gearbox in Argentina. Have you ever seen a 5 speed Volkswagen Dodge? and do they just bolt up to the normal Avenger engine? That would be a good upgrade.

Some of the people who race and rally Avengers in New Zealand import 1800cc engines from Brazil and Argentina. How common are the dodges over in Argentina? is it easy to find spare 1800cc engines?
