Title: Bearing tolerance/ clearance
Post by: Doozer on April 01, 2026, 07:57:45 PM
Good evening all, does anyone happen to know what the bearing clearance/ tolerance for the crank is for a 1600?

Any help appreciated.
Errol.

My (early) Workshop Manual says :

Quote1300 Single Carburettor 1300 Twin Carburettor 1600 Single Carburettor 1600 Twin Carburettor

Crankshaft

Main bearing running clearances

0008-0028in. (0,020-0,21mm) 0008-0028in. (0,020-0,21mm) As 1300 As 1300

Connecting Rod

Big end side clearance

007.019in. (0,178 0,483mm) 007.019in. (0,1780,483mm) As 1300 As 1300

eg 1600 'same' as the 1300cc clearances

Cheers Jared, that's a handy version of the workshop manual you've got. I'll be in touch if I need any other measurements.
Cheers
