Congrats on the wedding!!!!
I really want to go to this. I have 4 Todd motors cars, 3 Avengers and a Charger. If anyone wants to come with then they are more than welcome to drive my Charger down.
cheers! & you never know might be able to work it in to the honeymoon LOL
haha. Not sure if it would be the wife's ideal honeymoon but I say do it!!!
Booked my accommodation. Not sure if I will take the Charger or Avenger yet
So how did the day go?
It was really awesome. I went in my Avenger. There were 2 other Avengers there. Miles and his Avenger Tiger and a red GLS Auto.
I just got home (Snapped a clutch cable in Taupo) so I will post some photos tomorrow.
oh bugger! yeah saw a few images on the Sunbeam car club page on Facebook

Panther lurking here
Yup, the panther hiding in the shadows, ready to pounce :)
That Valiant wagon behind the Tiger was pretty cool. Single owner car, ordered it custom from Todd's with a 318 V8 and heaps of other extras.
Great turnout I hope? Gutted we didn't go.
Yeah. There was about 150 cars.
Here are some photos.
We all parked up outside the old Admin building, which is now the headquarters of MMC NZ. There was another big field of car but I got there early so I could park in front of the admin building itself

There was this nice Avenger GLS Auto
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5540_zpsbxnmlsar.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5540_zpsbxnmlsar.jpg.html)
And Miles with his Tiger
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5543_zpsdbegrnp9.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5543_zpsdbegrnp9.jpg.html)
After that we went in the admin building for a presentation about Todd motors history by Mike Todd and Neil O'Callaghan (Service manager for Todd motors who has worked there for 45 years and retired at the Heritage day)
I have always wanted to see inside the Admin building because it has the funkiest 70's style roof. Each of these panels are 2.5x2.5m fibreglass panels made specially for the Admin building.

They had a whole table full of old service manuals
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5544_zps1ko4tbzs.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5544_zps1ko4tbzs.jpg.html)
I loved the 50's cartoons on them.
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5545_zps7di1tsjt.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5545_zps7di1tsjt.jpg.html)
After that we cruised up to the Southward car museum. Followed a Charger for a bit
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5555_zpslfwv7xrk.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5555_zpslfwv7xrk.jpg.html)
At the meet up outside the museum I talked to the owner of this sweet single owner Valiant wagon. He ordered it custom from Todd Motors with a 318 V8 way back in 1973.
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5556_zpsf49m0acg.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5556_zpsf49m0acg.jpg.html)
And also Mike Todd had his genuine E49 Charger there *Drool*
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5559_zpsv8grmben.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5559_zpsv8grmben.jpg.html)
They put on a nice lunch there and then we got to look around the museum
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5558_zpsvubw6ltg.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5558_zpsvubw6ltg.jpg.html)
After the museum everyone went their separate ways but as my hotel was literally right next door to the old factory I figured I would drive up to the factory itself and have a look around.
It is truly massive, at the time it was NZ's biggest factory. Now it is used as a distribution centre for tons of places like Big Save furniture, and is also home to a few freight companies, and a NZ post depot. But the one that I was interested in was the Placemakers because I saw they had a drive-through, it was just for timber but I drove inside the actual factory and got some photos of where my car was built 43 years ago. Pretty damn awesome bringing my car back to where it was built, a homecoming of sorts.
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/1975%20avenger/IMG_5564_zpswgcw5irc.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/1975%20avenger/IMG_5564_zpswgcw5irc.jpg.html)
And then took a photo outside. You can see how long the factory is.
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/1975%20avenger/IMG_5566_zpsc2mpqw9y.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/1975%20avenger/IMG_5566_zpsc2mpqw9y.jpg.html)
Then a rainy start to the drive back up to Auckland the next day
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab274/avenga76/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5567_zpspumvbxsg.jpg) (http://s871.photobucket.com/user/avenga76/media/Todd%20motors%20Heritage%20day/IMG_5567_zpspumvbxsg.jpg.html)
thats NEAT, cheers for the pictures too
the younger GLS same as mine resides in Pahaiatua & frequents the Wheels with attitude here in Dvk, yet to park next to it or 'bump' into the owner
