This thread is for any interesting Avenger parts you have seen on Trademe or similar sites.

I'll start with this turbo kit for an Avenger.

It is a Kelford Cams F29 grind. From what I have read it is low end race spec. I don't know if your head would be big enough for it and it is more suited for dual webers/dellortos but could be worth a shot for $100. I use a custom made F63-7 Kelford cam in my road car.

These are some F29 specs I pulled off the net, they are from a toyota cam but I am pretty sure the F29 profile is the same over all car makes.

Awesome mate. be keen to see how it goes it your Avenger. Get that installed and those Solex carbs going and you should see quite a nice gain in performance.

Keep us up to date on how it goes.

Huge range of Hillman parts

Lots of parts stripped from several 1974 Hillman Avengers.

Just comment on the part you are looking for and i'll let you know if it's here, the condition it's in and a price. I'll upload a photo if needed

Avenger front black high back seats

The guy is sending me some photo's but these are pretty hard to come by. I have high back buckets in my 1975 Hillman Avenger and they are much better than the standard low back seats. being black they might be out of a TC but I can tell when I see the pictures.

They do look like Avenger TC seats. Pretty rare. Here is a picture.

Yeah the TC (stands for Twin Carb) was only available in NZ in 1971 and 1972, it featured a full black interior with those seats. In 1973 the TC was replaced with the Avenger Alpine which was a 1500 Twin Carb similar to the UK GLS, it 1974 the went to 1600 Twin Carb.

The engine from my 1975 Hillman Avenger is a 1500 from a 1973 Avenger Alpine.

They were not all black, I had a 72 1500 TC with a beige interior...

Damn man I should never trust Wikipedia

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillman_Avenger
In 1971 Todd's added a unique-to-NZ, sporty, 1.5-litre twin-carburettor 'TC' model with all-black interior trim, dashtop rev counter, side striping, high-back 'tombstone' front seats, special bright paint colours and new wheel trims, among other detail changes. This was loosely based on the UK GT but lacked that car's 'Rostyle' wheels, using NZ-made, look-alike pressed aluminium wheel trims instead.

I have only seen a couple of TC's and they have been black interior but a lot of the info on the net about NZ Avengers is a bit sketchy so that is why I made this site so we can hear from people who actually owned the cars.

Thanks for the correction and thanks for proving wikipedia wrong.

Seems a bit pricey since I brought my 1500 Avenger Alpine engine for $100. Maybe I should sell my old 1500 with the downdraft weber if I can get that sort of money.

nah sell it to me for $100...haha. have tracked down a potential engine down here in wellington. am waiting for more info on it but apparently its grumpy as hell. is in bits though lol

avenga

Sweet, The grumpy engine and new wheels should really transform your Avenger. You will be giving my Avenger a run for its money. You going dual carbs? dellortos? Webers? Strumburgs?

ill see what the engine specs are first. the guy is meant to be letting me know today. its in bits and needs a crank grind, but by the sounds of it its a pretty nice motor. should be able to get it pretty cheap as well. time will soon tell
