Love the new rims. I don't think I have seen them on an Avenger before so they should look unique. What size rubber are you going to put on them?

Can't wait to see some pictures of them on your car.

not sure yet. depends how close they rims sit to the guards. I want to go quite low, so might even end up running 175/50s. otherwise 185/60 likely

What size are you currently running on your stock rims? My manual says 155 is the standard size. Must be pretty sketchy on those like tyres. I run 185/70/R13 Goodyears on 13x6" tridents on my 1975 and 205/60/R13 on 13x7" hotwires on my race car.

the tyres now are 165s, are so old they dont even have a profile size (but they are usually about 80). tried rims on today (no pics sorry) and they are going to be pretty much perfect. will need a pretty small/narrow tyre though, hence thinking about 175s. anything bigger will probably rub. will look into getting the guards lip professionally, as my usually hammer technique isnt that great on the paint haha.

Yeah I remember looking at your tyres in Hamilton. They look at least a few decades old so even new tyres would do you a world of good.

Are you going to get it lowered at the same time as you do the wheels?

On my race car I used the old hammer technique, I wasn't too much of a perfectionist with my race car because was for racing not looks.

Yep it definitly needs a bunch of slam to pull off small tyres. Have no money or space to work on the car at the mo, so waiting for payday and then get a flat sorted before I do too much more

Cool retro shot. What did you use to get that effect?

Here is a driving shot of mine. You can see my GPS speedo in action saying I'm doing 96KPH.

Glad to see you finally got rid of those old tyres, They looked sketchy as. I am actually surprised they were still holding any air going by the age of them, they remind me of the spare tyre on my Charger. It is 30+ years old and has a slow leak (I put a tube in it)

Good luck with the new engine. Try not to get too many speeding tickets. I remember when I put my race engine in my '80 before doing the suspension mods, it was pretty damn scary.

Those trim strips pull off pretty easy. I used to wreak heaps of Avenger with them on and just peel them off. just be careful you don't pull the paint off with the strip but the paint on yours looks sweet so it should be no probs.

Yeah it is amazing how much the factory paint fades and how much brighter the paint is under the strip.

Cool. Congrats on the new job.

Sounds like you have a lot of fun stuff planned for your Avenger. It will be cool to see the difference when it is all done.

I just got my WOF on my Avenger yesterday, passed with flying colours except he moaned about it having no front park lights. I convinced him that it never had front park lights. I don't know if that is true or not I just bluffed him to get my WOF. Does yours have front park lights?
